PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously realize the measurement of a position and the communication of data regardless of radio wave conditions. SOLUTION: The measurement of a position and the communication of data are performed at the same time using light. In order to perform this, position displaying and data transmitting light emitting members 11a, 12a are provided to a position display/data transmission apparatus 1 and the light emitting states of the light emitting members are photographed by the imaging means 32 of a position measuring/data receiving apparatus 2. The measurement of the position is performed from the taken images of the light emitting members using trigonometry and the communication of data is performed by the flashing of the light emitting members. If both of the measurement of the position and the communication of data are performed using light, the use in a hospital restricted in the utilization of ratio waves or in space exposed to strong electromagnetic waves is enabled.
