PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cassette height of which is not changed even when size of a cassette case in a plane direction is changed in order to increase winding quantity of the magnetic tape, can be used only by modifying a conventional recording/reproducing device a little and causes no rising of manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cassette 50 is distinguished by that diameters of flanges 81, 82 are set to be smaller than maximum winding diameter of a magnetic tape 56 wound around a hub 83, regulation surfaces 51b, 52b for regulating vertical motion of the magnetic tape 56 wound around with a diameter larger than the flanges 81, 82 are formed at a ceiling surface 51a of an upper half case 51 and at a bottom surface 52a of a lower half case 52.
