PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant optical fiber cable with a small number of fibers coated with a coating material which does not contain harmful halogens but has high frame retardance and which gives good workability when the fibers are drawn out from the coating. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber cable having a small number of fibers obtained by coating coated optical fibers with a frame-retardant composition consisting of metal hydroxides and a polyolefin resin containing no halogen, the composition has 1.45 to 1.60 specific gravity and 100 to 400% elongation at break.
