A multi-directional input device with a volume control as signal output means capable of reducing the number of parts, wherein gear parts (44A, 44B) are provided at one end part of each of rotating members (40A, 40B) combined, in a case (10), at right angles with each other and rotated according to the operation of an operating member (30), straight forwardly moving sliders (80, 80) are installed on two side surface parts of the case (10) crossing perpendicular to each other movably along the side surfaces thereof and a mounting substrate of the device, tooth parts (82, 82) meshing with the gear parts (44A, 44B) are formed on the upper surfaces of the straight forwardly moving sliders (80, 80), contacts in contact slidably with a resistance circuit formed on the surface of the mounting substrate are installed on the lower surfaces of the straight forwardly moving sliders (80, 80), and the contacts form a volume control integrated with the device together with the gear parts (44A, 44B) and straight forwardly moving sliders (80, 80).
