An exercise load measuring instrument comprising means for calculating the body fat percentage from the human body impedance and personal data, means for determining the body somatotype and the basal metabolic rate from the personal data and the body fat percentage, means for calculating the amount of body fat to be reduced from the difference between a preset target body fat percentage and the measured body fat percentage, means for calculating the calorific value to be reduced to consume the body fat to be reduced, means for determining the target exercise load by converting the calorific value to the exercise load, means for calculating the actual exercise load and caloric consumption from the measured body motion and acceleration, and means for calculating the remaining caloric consumption which is the remainder of the subtraction of the actual caloric consumption from the calorific value and the remaining exercise load.
