A surface aeration impeller 8 is adjustably mounted on a sewage tank by means of the adjustable drive shaft 4 moved by hand wheel 15. In Fig. 2, not shown, greater flexibility in adjusting the aerator to the varying depth of sewage may be achieved by the additional use of discharge weirs.
