<p>A lavatory has separate compartments (11, 14) for receiving and disposing urine and faeces, respectively. A seat (19) comprises a frame (22) on which is mounted an operating mechanism (29) for opening and closing a seat covering the faeces opening (13). A mechanism is provided at each side of the seat for activating two cover plates (26, 27). The mechanism comprises a springbiased cylinder (30) which comprises a tappet (31) interacting with a tappet face (33) in a rotatable bushing (34) secured to an operating lever (35) for the cover plates (26, 27). When the user uses the lavatory, the cover plates will automatically pivot aside because of the user's weight. When the user rises, the cover plates will return and close the faeces opening (13).</p> |
