<p>The patient is seated on a chair (1,2,3) which can be adjusted in height and is fitted with an adjustable thigh support unit (4). The foot is positioned on a footrest (12) where it is held in place by two rubber straps (13,14). The footrest is joined to a vertical element (8), swivel mounted to the seat (7) and adjustable in length, which can be swung around an axle (11) located at the height of the patient's knee in order to carry out a pulling action on the lower leg. The space between the bones and the cartilages of the knee is refilled with synovial fluid by repeated use of the stretching mechanism.</p> |
