<p>A hair dryer (10) comprises a heater (14), a fan (13) creating an airflow heated by the heater (14), a battery (24), and a switch (28) connected in circuit therewith. An interlock (30) prevents the switch (28) from closing during the time the hair dryer (10) is inserted in a base (70) for charging the battery (24) and heating the heater (14) via an electrical power source. An arc prevention assembly prevents arcing among contacts on the hair dryer (10) and the base (70) during insertion and removal of the dryer (10) to and from the base (70).</p> |
