The arrangement has compartments in at least one shelf system for secure accommodation, withdrawal and insertion of objects, e.g. bank notes, on or in holders. The shelf system with the compartments and portable holders and an automatic control device are placed in a secure area. The control device can be partly outside the secure area and can transport selected holders to a service area outside the secure area alone or with a transport system. The arrangement has compartments in at least one shelf system (2) for secure accommodation, withdrawal and insertion of objects such as bank notes on or in holders (3) such as cassettes. The shelf system with the compartments and portable holders and an automatic shelf system control device (4) are placed in a secure area (5). The control device can be partly outside the secure area and can transport selected holders to a service area (6) outside the secure area alone or with an additional transport arrangement.
