METHOD FOR PRODUCING C9 ALCOHOLS AND METHOD FOR THE INTEGRATED PRODUCTION OF C9 ALCOHOLS AND C10 ALCOHOLS

The invention relates to a method for producing C9 alcohols according to which: a) a C4 hydrocarbon stream containing butene and butane is produced; b) the C4 hydrocarbon stream is subjected to an oligomerization on an olefin-oligomerization catalyst, and the reaction mixture obtained is separated, whereby a stream containing octene, and a butene-depleted C4 hydrocarbon stream are obtained; c) the butene-depleted C4 hydrocarbon stream is subjected to a steam reforming or to a partial oxidation, whereby carbon monoxide and hydrogen are obtained; d) the stream containing octene is hydroformylated in the presence of a hydroformylation catalyst with carbon monoxide and hydrogen to form C9 aldehydes, whereby the carbon monoxide utilized and/or the hydrogen utilized at least partially originate from step c), and; e) the C9 aldehydes are catalytically hydrogenated with hydrogen. In one variant of the method, a portion of the butene contained in the C4 hydrocarbon stream is hydroformylated to form C5 aldehydes which are then subjected to an aldol condensation, and the product of the aldol condensation is hydrogenated to form C10 alcohols. The method permits an extensive use of the materials of the utilized C4 hydrocarbon stream.
