A photothermic transducing spectroscopic analyzer in which probe light is made to fall on a thermal lens produced in a sample by the input of pumping light and the sample is analyzed in accordance with a change of the probe light which is caused by the thermal lens. The light source of the pumping light is composed of a semiconductor light-emitting means. The light source of the probe light is composed of an another semiconductor light-emitting means. The pumping light is focused upon the sample and the probe light is focused upon the thermal lens by a common focusing lens. The photothermal transducing spectroscopic analyzer satisfies all the requirements of a device for POC analysis, i.e. small size, low manufacturing cost, high sensitivity, high precision, maintenance free performance, short start-up time, and automatic measurement.
