PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing lightweight formed products by using sawdust as a main ingredient is provided to serve formed products useful as a substitute for styrofoam causing environmental pollution. CONSTITUTION: The method is characterized by the following steps of: (i) pulverizing sawdust into a uniform size of 0.01-0.1mm; (ii) mixing 80-90wt% of the powdered sawdust with 10-16wt% of pulp or resin and wax and 3-5wt% of starch and optionally 1wt% of yellow soil; (iii) heating the mixed materials in a mold to 100-200deg.C and compressing the heated material. |
