DEVICE AND METHOD OF STORING AND PLAYING DIGITAL TV SIGNALS

PURPOSE: A device and a method of storing and playing DTV(digital TV) signals are provided to be capable of freely selecting desired DTV signals to be stored in a separate memory and reproducing the stored DTV signals at desired timing. CONSTITUTION: A TS(Transport Stream) data I/O part(210) inputs/outputs digital TV signals transported with inherent numbers. A PID comparator(220) compares whether signals input/output through the I/O part(210) are agreed with signals selected by a user, and outputs only signals which the compared results are agreed with. A temporal information processor(230) generates temporal information for transport temporal intervals between packets generated in accordance with a DTV signal rule, or cancels the temporal information. Digital TV signals to be stored in a memory or read by the memory are temporarily stored in a FIFO(240). A FIFO controller(260) monitors the status of the FIFO to generate a control signal informing the I/O timing of the FIFO. An operating signal input part(270) inputs external operating signals by a user. A CPU(280) controls the operations of the comparator and the temporal information processor through user's operating signals, and controls the operation of the memory through a control signal from the FIFO controller.
