PURPOSE: A process starting method is provided to switch a signal type process starting method into a process starting method using a message queue so that he process is inter-operable under both the NT and UNIX OS environment and can be applicable to any source or environment and make a system upgrade easy. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of an SMP(System Management Processor) of a branch processor initializing an NRIF(New Relay Interface) module(S30), a process supervisor sending start instructions to a process maker via a message queue of the NRIF module and starting the process maker(S31), the process supervisor checking a state of the process maker(S32), the process supervisor sending an instruction for starting the first process designated in a configuration file to the process maker in the case that the checking result is normal(S40,S41), the process supervisor waiting for receiving a message in the case that a transmission of the first process starting instruction is successful(S50,S51), the process supervisor periodically checking the state of the process maker based on a set timer(S60), the process supervisor determining a program or system failure in the case that the process maker is not normally started(S42), and the process supervisor sending again the start instruction to the process maker in the case that an abnormal state occurs at the process maker(S62).
