PURPOSE: A trace system, used in a MDS(Micro-controller Development System) is provided to store various data of a target system while the target system is being operated, and to enable a user to see the stored data if the operation is finished. CONSTITUTION: The trace system comprises a triggering trace mode controller(100), a point to point trace mode controller(200), a control circuit(300), a trace circuit(400), a trace memory controller(500) and a trace memory(600). The triggering trace mode controller(100) generates a triggering trace mode enable signal in response to a trace run signal, and generates a triggering trace mode disable signal after a time has passed. The point to point trace mode controller(200) sequentially a point to point trace mode enable signal and disable signal in response to the first and the second interval signals. The control circuit(300) includes a run control circuit(310), a stop control circuit(330) and a counter circuit(320). The run control circuit(310) selectively offers one among the trace run signal, the triggering trace mode enable signal and the point to point trace mode enable signal in response to a mode select signal. The stop control circuit(330) selectively offers one among the trace run signal, the triggering trace mode disable signal and the point to point trace mode disable signal.
