摘要 A fuel cell battery consists of a reaction device which is aligned with the stack axis and contacting the cell stack. The reaction device treats liquid fuel by reforming with partial oxidation to form fuel gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas. A fuel cell battery comprises a cell stack (2), a distributor passage (21) on the stack axis, after-burner chambers, and an auxiliary burner for a start-up operation. A reaction device (3) connected with the cell stack treats liquid fuel by reforming with partial oxidation to form fuel gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas. A heat exchanger system (4) is integrated to the reaction device. During the current delivering operation of the battery, the hot exhaust gas from the after-burner chamber is used for vaporizing the liquid fuel and for heating up a gaseous oxygen carrier. Vaporized fuel can be contacted with the heated oxygen via an in feed point (6) which is part of the heat exchanger system, so that reforming with partial oxidation can take place. After the forming of the reformed fuel gas, the reformed fuel gas is fed to the distributor passage of the cell stack.
