DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ILLUMINATION CIRCUMSTANCES BY USING DIGITAL IMAGE

PURPOSE: A device and a method for detecting illumination circumstances by using digital image are provided to gain the information about illumination circumstances, which are used for gaining the color digital image by using a color digital image input instrument. CONSTITUTION: In the device(20) and the method for detecting illumination circumstances by using digital image, storing instruments(21, 25), a color converting instrument(21), a color area generating instrument(22) and a color area judging instrument(23) are included. The storing instruments(21, 25) store the Lab color value and the color converting matrix. The color converting instrument(21) converts the input color digital image value into the Lab color value by using the color converting matrix. The color area generating instrument(22) composes the color area by using the Lab color value of the area representative color. The color area judging instrument(23) judges if the color area is extended or not and detects the illumination circumstances information by using the color area gained in the color area generating instrument(22).
