PURPOSE: An electric pressure kettle is provided to prevent breakage of an inner container and a heating plate by restraining rotation of the heating plate when the heating plate is not locked with the inner container. CONSTITUTION: An inner container(60) wherein a food is accommodated is accommodated in the cavity of a body(50). A lid(70) having an upper lid(71) and a lower lid(73) is movably installed in the upper face of the lid. A heating plate(90) having a handle(91) is rotatably installed in the bottom of the lower lid to be locked with the inner container or released from the inner container. If an external force applied to the heating plate is less than a specific degree, the heating plate is restraining from rotation by a rotation preventing unit. The rotation preventing unit consists of an elastic locking protrusion(81a) and a stopper protrusion(73a). Upon rotation of the handle, the heating plate rotates with a discharge tube(81). Then, the locking protrusion of the discharge tube rotates and the left side of the locking protrusion contacts to the right side of the stopper protrusion. When an external over a specific degree is applied to the handle, the locking protrusion is placed on the left of the stopper protrusion and locked with the stopper protrusion. Even if the lid is opened, the heating plate doesn't rotate. When the lid is opened, a connecting member(93) of the heating plate is accurately inserted into an incision part(62) between locking members(61) of the inner container. Therefore, breakage of the heating plate and the inner container due to contacting of the connecting member with the locking members is avoided.
