PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier of cordierite ceramic honeycomb structure which shows high carrier strength despite its thin cell wall and also superb quick-heating performance, and also provide a manufacturing method for the carrier. SOLUTION: This catalyst carrier is of such a cordierite ceramic honeycomb structure that the cell wall is less than 0.15 mm thick and the porosity is 30% or more and the A axis compression strength is 19.6 MPa or more.
