摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a temperature of a driving element itself. SOLUTION: A driving current flowing in an original driving signal line which transmits original driving signals for driving driving elements set correspondingly to a plurality of nozzles in a recording head is detected. The temperature of the driving elements is determined from the detected result of the driving current. The driving current may be detected by driving driving elements for specific nozzles preliminarily selected among the nozzles for discharging an achromatic ink in monochrome printing, and by driving driving elements for specific nozzles preliminarily selected among nozzles for discharging chromatic inks in color printing. The temperature of the driving elements may be determined from the detected result of the driving current on the basis of preliminarily obtained characteristics of the driving current showing a relationship between the driving current and the temperature of the driving elements. Characteristics of the driving current may be calibrated by detecting the driving current flowing in the original driving signal line under a predetermined condition and detecting an atmospheric temperature of the recording head.
