ELECTRONIC SPHYGMOMANOMETER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer which can evaluate the blood pressure value of a patient without receiving any influence from the mental condition of the patient by detecting the mental condition of the patient at the time of measuring the blood pressure from the variation of the physiological condition of the patient before and after the pressurization of a cuff. SOLUTION: The sphygmomanometer is provided with a mental condition detecting means 17 which detects the mental condition of the patient at the time of measuring the blood pressure of the patient from the variation of the mental condition before and after the upper limb of the patient is pressurized with the cuff 1. Since the detecting means 17 can detect the mental condition of the patient by detecting the variation of the physiological information which varies depending upon the mental condition before and after the pressurization of the cuff 1 by using a stable stimulus which is given to the patient when the cuff 1 pressurizes the upper limb, the mental condition of the patient can be detected without individual difference and the blood pressure value of the patient can be evaluated without receiving any influence from the mental condition.
