[Also in Division G1] In weighing-apparatus (see Division G1), an auxiliary pointer 40 screwed to a clutch plate 41 can be coupled to a shaft 30 carrying a housing 53 by introducing fluid pressure to a space 66 sealed by a rubber diaphragm 57, which is thus deflected into frictional engagement with the face 65 of the plate 41. The shaft 30 is bored to form an air passage, communicating radially with the space 66 and ending in a port 69 just sufficiently spaced from a nozzle 77 to avoid contact with minimum loss of pressure. The housing 53 is secured to the shaft 30 while the hub 42 of plate 41 is mounted thereon in antifriction bearings.</p> |
