PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backpack such as a rucksack capable of being stabilized on the back when carried, and having enough air permeability to prevent the back from becoming sweaty. SOLUTION: A plurality of elastic hollow pipes 5 each having a through hole 6 in its core with an air vent 7 bored through the outer peripheral wall of its mid part are attached to a rigid back plate 4 disposed on the back face 3 of the rucksack 1, and elastic waist pads 9 are arranged below the lowermost one of the elastic hollow pipes 5 arranged parallel to one another, to constitute the backpack.
