PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable mowing machine relatively light, having a simple mechanism, capable of safely and easily mowing weeds growing at the face of slopes of high levees and effectively decreasing the works which are borne on labors in mowing at the high levees. SOLUTION: The mowing parts 5 and 6 of this mowing machine provided with motors 31 and 32 mounted and held on shield covers 11 and 12 connected with a operating rod 50, landing elements 21 and 22 slidable on the ground on the shield cover 11 and 12, is provided with wheels 70 and 70' capable of rolling on the ground (M and N) and disposing a spiral spring 90 wherein the spring 90 stores energy by normal rotation of the wheels 70 and 70' in advancing the mowing element 5 and 6 and energizes the wheels 70 and 70' to reversely rotate by the stored energy in retreating.
