METHOD FOR CLEANING ARTICLE SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning the surface of an article by which a uniform and dense protective film is formed on the article surface to effectively prevent contamination, the glass surface is hardly eroded even if the article is kept over a long period, the protective film is easily removed by washing, and the waste liquid is extremely safe for the organisms and environment. SOLUTION: An aqueous solution containing a hydroxy acid or its salt is applied to the surface of an article to form a water-soluble protective film consisting of the hydroxy acid or its salt, and the contaminant depositing on the film surface is washed off together with the protective film.
