APPARATUS FOR JUDGING KIND OF PRINTING MEDIUM AND PRINTING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly select and set various printing conditions by highly accurately judging kinds of printing media to be printed in a printing apparatus which prints on printing media. SOLUTION: Sensors 105 and 106 are set for measuring a light reflectivity of a face to be printed and a rear face of the printing medium. The kind of the printing medium is judged by combining a difference value of the reflectivities and a preliminarily measured absolute value. Printing is carried out to the judged printing medium under the proper printing condition.
