PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life of an immersion pipe for a vacuum degassing device. SOLUTION: The immersion pipe for the vacuum degassing device formed by providing a cylindrical arbor provided with a collar-like flange at the outer edge of its top end with refractories on its outer periphery and inner periphery is provided with a margin for the coefficient of thermal expansion between the top end of the outer peripheral refractories and the flange. A cushion-like heat resisting material is preferably interposed in the margin for the coefficient of thermal expansion.
