摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the unimpregnation of molten metal and to eliminate the trouble in fabrication after molding when a disk rotor is manufactured by using preforms. SOLUTION: Retaining pins 26 and 30 are maintained in the state of projecting to a prescribed extent from the molding surfaces of a lower mold 11 and an upper mold 12 and the heated preforms 4 and 5 are supported by the retaining pins 26 and 30. Molten aluminum is packed and pressurized into the cavity composed by the lower mold 11 and the upper mold 12 in such a manner that the inside of the preforms 4 and 5 is impregnated therewith. Since the preforms 4 and 5 do not abut directly on the molding surfaces of the lower mold 11 and the upper mold 12, the preforms are not directly deprived of their heat by the molding surfaces and since most of the surfaces of the preforms 4 and 5 are exposed to the cavity space, the inside of the preforms 4 and 5 is smoothly and rapidly impregnated with the molten metal. The retaining pins 26 and 30 are put into the state of not protruding from the molding surfaces at the completion of the packing and pressurizing and therefore holes, etc., are not formed.
