PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press working apparatus capable of imparting prescribed tension to a sheet-like member intermittently fed through a working region. SOLUTION: A press working apparatus is provided with a press apparatus 4 to conduct press working, an unwinding apparatus 6 to unwind a sheet-like member 2, a winding apparatus 8 to wind the sheet-like member 2, an upstream side feed mechanism 10 to feed the sheet like member from the unwinding apparatus to a working region 26, a downstream side feed mechanism 12 to feed the worked sheet-like member 2 to the winding apparatus 8 and a feed apparatus 30 to intermittently feed the sheet-like member 2 through the working region 26. The upstream side and downstream side feed mechanisms 10, 12 consist of pairs of upstream side/downstream side nip/feed rolls 38, 40, 66, 68 to nip/feed the sheet-like member 2 and upstream side/down tension imparting means 52, 78 to suck the sheet-like member 2 to impart tension.
