PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for cleaning a final waste disposal site where a waste is already discarded. SOLUTION: A buried material 2 already disposed way deep in the ground at the final waste disposal site 1, is soaked in a water vessel 3 and is sorted out into a first sediment 4, a suspended matter 5 and a water-dissolved matter 6. Further, an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution 8 is added to the first sediment 4, which is, in turn, sorted out into a second sediment 9 and a soluble matter. After that, a hydrogen peroxide water 10 is added to the second sediment 9, which is, in turn, sorted out into a third sediment 11 and the soluble matter. In addition, sulfuric acid is added to the third sediment 11 and the latter is sorted out into a fourth sediment and the soluble matter. Then an aqueous ammonium sulfate solution is added to the fourth sediment to obtain a fifth sediment and the soluble matter through a sorting process. Finally an aqueous sodium sulfide solution is added to the fifth sediment and this mixture is sorted out into a sixth sediment and the soluble matter.
