PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with the deprivation of a quieting function in a magnetic resonance imaging device in which a gradient magnetic field coil is housed in a vacuum container to be quieted. SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging device in which the gradient magnetic field coil 2 is housed in the vacuum container 22 is provided with a gradient magnetic field power source 5 for driving the gradient magnetic field coil, a sensor 11 for detecting noise accompanying the driving of the gradient magnetic field coil 2, a sequencer 8 for stopping the supply of the gradient magnetic field power source 5 in the case of detecting noise exceeding a prescribed level and a computer system. Thus, an examinee is neither frightened nor given unpleasant feeling by noise generated when the vacuum state of the vacuum container is broken.
