PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern displaying device capable of preventing the slipping of a pulley and a picture belt, and allowing the high-speed rotation and the quick acceleration and deceleration. SOLUTION: A pattern belt 12 is wound on a driving pulley 72, driven pulleys 76, 77, and a tension roller 82. A projection 72a of the driving pulley 72 is engaged with and disengaged from an engagement hole 12b of the design belt 12 in accompany with the rotation thereof. The torque of the driving pulley 72 is transmitted to the pattern belt 12 by the abrasion of the driving pulley 72 and the pattern belt 12, and the projection 72a engaged with the engagement hole 12b to rotate the design belt 12. The pattern belt 12 is rotated along a correct track by the tension roller 82, the engagement of the engagement hole 12b and the projection 72a, and flanges 76a, 77a of the driven pulleys 76, 77. As the projection 72a is engaged with and disengaged from the engagement hole 12b, the slipping of the driving pulley 72 and the pattern belt 12 can be prevented, which allows the high-speed rotation and the quick acceleration and deceleration.
