PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trommel for a backhoe which excavates earth and sieves the collected earth and rocks and with which additionally higher sorting efficiency may be obtained and stabler rotation may be obtained in sieving operation. SOLUTION: The trommel for the backhoe is a trommel to be rotatably mounted at the front end of an arm (6) of the backhoe, is formed to a blind hexagonal cylindrical shape and is constituted with the six flanks corresponding to the peripheral surface as a sieving net. Pawls (2) for excavation and guide plates (3) for taking in the earth and rocks are installed to the front end on the opening side of a trommel body (1). The pawls (2) for excavation are arranged at the front end edges corresponding to the spaced three sides of the hexagonal shape. The guide plates (3) are arranged at the front edges corresponding to another three sides adjacent to the three sides described above.
