PURPOSE: An apparatus for pressing and aligning automatically a metallic lead frame is provided to improve productivity by automatizing a pressing process and an aligning process of a metallic lead frame. CONSTITUTION: An upper plate of a metallic lead frame is moved to a predetermined position by an air cylinder(13) when a press process for the metallic lead frame is performed. An air shower unit is used for cooling the metallic lead frame in the press process. A press pin is adhered to the air cylinder in order to perform a momentary press operation. The pressed metallic lead frame is carried to a transfer portion(6). A main alignment portion is used for aligning each head portion of the pressed lead frames. A multi-stage cartridge has a drive elevator. The drive elevator is used for loading the aligned metallic lead frames in a cartridge.
