DNA sequence coding for a mammalian glucuronyl C5-epimerase and a process for its production

An isolated or recombinant DNA sequence is provided coding for a mammalian glucuronyl C5-epimerase capable of converting D-glucuronic acid to L-iduronic acid. Recombinant expression vectors comprising such DNA sequences and functional derivatives thereof are provided. Glucuronyl C5-epimerase may be prepared in host cells transformed with these recombinant expression vectors.
