POWER CIRCUIT OF AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power circuit which can realize the suppression of higher harmonic waves and a high power factor of an air conditioner. SOLUTION: This power circuit of an air conditioner includes a reactor 9 connected between an AC power supply 1 and a bridge rectification circuit 6 and a capacitor 11 connected in series with a switching means 10 between an AC input terminal and a DC output terminal of the bridge rectification circuit 6. By controlling the on/off of the switching means 10 based on the DC voltage and current and the rotating speed of a compressor 19 which is a load, the air conditioner can be kept at a high power factor in any load condition and can be suppressed with higher harmonic waves.
