The aircraft consists of a central nacelle (1) surrounded by a pair of contra-rotating, coaxial and synchronised rotors, each comprising a crown (2, 3) and at least two blades (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B). The nacelle has two structural rings (10, 11), connected by struts, which act as guides for the rotors, and the pitch of the rotor blades is controlled by two rocking rings (31, 32) associated and concentric with the two crowns (2, 3), and a system of levers or cables. The rocking rings can be adjusted vertically or rotated, and the crowns are guided relative to the structural rings by rollers with vertical axes, spaced evenly round the structural rings.
