PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the miniaturization of an optical transmission system by providing very easily an optical fiber which can reduce the light transmission loss surely, and realizing the improvement in the light transmission efficiency in the optical transmission system. SOLUTION: In the end face of the optical fiber 10 having a core 11 and a clad 12, by heating it to the temperature which melts the end face surface of the core 11, and the plastic optical fiber 1 with a flat plate is obtained by melt-bonding the light transmissive flat plate 20, for example, quartz glass plate, in which at least the exposure side end surface is flat. The size of the flat plate 20 is set as the size same at least as the core 11, and the thickness is set as the thickness enough to be not broken. |
