PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for authenticating identity and a device for executing the same, with which security is extremely improved by preventing the embezzlement of a card and excluding the embezzlement of personal feature data in the use of the card as well. SOLUTION: Concerning the method for authenticating identity and the device for executing the same, the data of specified personal physical features are previously registered on an IC card 8, the data of physical features provided from the carrying person of this IC card 8 are transmitted to the IC card 8, these transmitted data of physical features are collated with the previously registered data of physical features inside the IC card 8, and it is authenticated whether a person carrying the relevant IC card 8 is the person having the physical features registered on the relevant IC card or not. |
