PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a method for applying a thermal insulation material to an outdoor unit of air conditioner. SOLUTION: A pipe insulation, a heat insulation box, and a heat insulation tape are used conventionally for applying a thermal insulation material to a corder 14. It required a long installation time and thermal insulation of the details was difficult. The method can thermally insulate the details while shortening the applying time by pouring foamable resin into a form. A second forms 31 is applied to a regenerator 12 and a condenser 14 in Fig. (a). The second forms 31 is filled with silicon based foamable through a filling opening 34 in Fig (b). As shown on Fig. (c), an evaporator 15, an absorber 16 and surrounding piping and tubes are covered collectively by urethane based foamable resin 26.
