PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method for decreasing occurrence of troubles that are caused by the error diffusion to the quality of reproduced images. SOLUTION: This image-processing method reproduces an image, corresponding to the image signals of multilevel with reduction of this level and includes a comparison step 56, a diffusion step 58 and a step, where the threshold of the step 56 is decided from a threshold matrix. The threshold matrix includes noise patterns 48, 50, 52 and 54 which are correlative to the spatial chromatic.
