PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit alteration places of a drawing without any omission by accurately and automatically displaying the alteration places of the drawing when the drawing is altered. SOLUTION: A drawing data editing part 12 of an electronic drawing generating device edits an altered drawing and stores it in a data-after-alteration file 21, and then an alteration place automatic display control part 17 is actuated from a screen. Consequently, an alteration difference extraction part 14 calculates differences between drawing data before and after the alteration and performs the lattice expansion of 1/0 in a difference table, and an alteration area border generation part 15 exclusively ORs adjacent meshes of a lattice longitudinally and laterally in order to obtain border data and perform lattice expansion. An alteration place indication drawing generation part 16 scans a longitudinal and a lateral border table and draws outward border figures in odd-ordered meshes where the border data are present and inward border figures (e.g. arc) in even-numbered meshes from the scanning side and a drawing display processing part 13 superimposes the border figures on a drawing after alteration and displays them on a CRT 6.
