PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sealing performance of a gasket, by arranging a seal member consisting of elastic material around a gas hole to bury the seal member in looseness in a tightened condition between parts to make the sealing member cause elastic deformation by a follow up to a fluctuating combustion pressure so as to generate a uniform surface pressure. SOLUTION: This gasket has a ring-shaped sealing member 1B provided with gas holes 3, 9, capable of elastic deformation and outer side elastic metal plates 2, 2A arranged in an outer side region of the ring-shaped sealing member 1B and connected to it. The ring-shaped sealing member 1B causes elastic deformation according to looseness of parts opposed, when the part of an engine is tightened, to ensure uniformity of a seal surface pressure by uniformly distributed tightening load around the gas holes 3, 9. The ring-shaped seal member 1B is formed in egg shape, where the cross section in an inner circumferential side has a thickness larger than in the outer peripheral side.
