SEISMIC CONTROL STRUCTURE OF BUILDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic control structure capable of being applied to any of a beam and column structure and a bearing wall panel structure and dispensing with a rubber vibration absorbing material having short service life. SOLUTION: A main structure 40 at an upper position is supported on a foundation structure 11 at a lower position through support members 20, 20 and a deformation member 30. When a large horizontal force acts on a building due to earthquake, the deformation member is plastically deformed. An increase of horizontal force (horizontal reaction force) acting on the main structure is settled when the plastic deformation of the deformation member is started. Consequently, the main structure is deformed only in an elastic region irrespective of magnitude of earthquake to eliminate the possibilities leading to the plastic deformation and destruction. During this time, a vertical load of the main structure is supported by the support members.
