PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft straightner capable of constantly keeping the angles or right and left pinwheels optimum, and capable of continuously, stably and automatically correcting the texture by a simple structure. SOLUTION: This weft straightner for correcting the texture by arranging rotary shafts 6 at the vicinities of the outer peripheries of a pair of pinwheels 4, supporting the pinwheels 4 by the rotary shafts respectively so that the angles of the pinwheels 4 may be changed in parallel or so as to be widen to the ends, allowing both edges of a traveling cloth to be hooked by the group of pins protruded from the outer periphery of the pinwheels respectively, and rotating the pinwheels 4 separately, has a feed roll 31 for feeding the cloth to the pinwheels 4, a dancer roll 8 capable of being displaced upper and lower by riding on the cloth traveling between the feed roll 31 and the pinwheels 4, a means for detecting the amount of the displacement of the dancer roll 8, a means for detecting the traveling speed of the cloth having passed the pinwheels, and a controlling means for correcting the signal of the speed- detecting means by using the signal of the displaced distance-detecting means, and controlling the rotation speed of the feed roll based on the corrected signal.
