PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil change time detecting device for diesel engine, capable of relatively easily detecting the appropriate time for replacement of the engine oil. SOLUTION: An electronic control device (ECU) 26 computes the soot containing quantity during the prescribed computing period on the basis of the engine speed, fuel injection quantity, air-fuel ratio and fuel injection time of a diesel engine 10, and computes the soot quantity included in the engine oil while integrating results of the computing. When the computed soot quantity exceeds the prescribed limit value, time for replacement of the engine oil is detected, and an indicator 27 is lighted to be notified of this.
