A crucible holder made from a carbonaceous material (50), designed for crystal growth operations and shaped like hollow receptacle incorporating an inner surface (14) and an outer surface (16), includes at least two separate matching parts capable of being assembled by joining surfaces (51, 52, 53). When the parts are assembled to form the crucible holder, specific parts of the joining surfaces overlap to retain contact zones (101, 102, 103) between the parts when they are moved relative to each other during the crystal growth process. Independent claims are included for a component made from carbonaceous material that can be used to form a crucible holder and the utilisation of the crucible holder in a crystal growth process. |
