PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a driving means, to warn abnormality and to perform re-photographing operation easily understood by a user with easy operation by moving a photographing lens to an initial position when the actuation of the photographing lens is abnormally stopped. SOLUTION: This camera 1 where photographing is performed by moving the photographing lens 50 from the initial position to a specified position is provided with the driving means for moving the lens 50 from the initial position to the specified position, a detection means for detecting that the lens 50 is stopped for a specified time in the midst of moving, and a control means for restoring the lens 50 to the initial position by actuating the driving means according to a signal from the detection means.
