SOLUTION: In this optical module 1, an optical element 5 being a light receiving element or a light emitting element and an optical waveguide material 8 optically connected with the optical element are provided, the electrode parts 6 of the optical element are connected to electrodes 4 formed in one side surface of a flexible printed board 2 by a conductive adhesive 7, the optical waveguide material 8 is supported by the other side surface of the flexible printed board, and the light receiving part 10 or the light emitting part of the optical element is faced to the reflecting surface 9 of the optical waveguide material via a light transmitting hole 3 formed in the flexible printed board.
